Top affordable destinations for travel this holiday season

Online travel agency Priceline has released a list of the most popular and budget-friendly destinations for winter getaways in the US. Branson, Missouri, tops the list with an average hotel price of $107 per night in December. Other affordable destinations include Jacksonville and Kissimmee, Florida; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Houston, Texas. For cheap flights, Priceline recommends Orlando, Florida, with round-trip tickets costing an average of $213. Austin, Pigeon Forge, Las Vegas, Portland, and Seattle have hotels priced under $145 per night in the winter. Priceline also advises booking early next year for the best deals, as historical pricing data shows that September and October offer the most savings.
