Starbucks workers plan walkouts on Red Cup Day

Starbucks Workers United (SBWU) is planning to stage a walkout at hundreds of Starbucks locations on November 16 to protest working conditions, including short-staffing and the frequency of promotional days like Red Cup Day. Last year, SBWU organized strikes at over 100 stores on Red Cup Day, and this year's action is expected to be even larger. SBWU is asking customers to join rallies, write to Starbucks executives, or bring pamphlets to non-unionized stores in support of the workers. Despite ongoing efforts to unionize, no contracts have been signed between SBWU and Starbucks.
