How Alice Cooper Brought ‘From the Inside’ Out of the Sanitarium

Alice Cooper's 11th studio album, "From the Inside," was released on November 17, 1978, and was inspired by his experience in a sanitarium to treat his alcoholism. Cooper checked into a New York sanitarium over a year earlier to face his severe drinking addiction. The album featured characters he encountered during his time in the sanitarium, and Cooper collaborated with Bernie Taupin to write the songs. Despite not being a commercial success, Cooper remains proud of the album and considers it one of his best musically.
